The first time we ate here the food was really good and the service the same. It's a typical Mongolian grill, but I like the spice selection; specifically the curry powder! The second time we ate here, the AC was either off or not working so it was very uncomfortable. The employee's were not attentive at all, they were sitting at a table eating and using their phones. We like the food so we will be back but I hope they fix the AC issue!

The service was quick and inviting! I ordered the grill and asked my server to explain how their service worked. My server was very knowledgable and showed me how to fill out my card with name, table number and where to go to fill my bowl with all the veg' s and meats. The food took a little while to cook but not too long. The bowl that was served seemed to have multiplied two-fold and was cooked as well as any Stir fried meal hat I have had from favorite grills back in Los Angeles. Good job!

I ordered takeout from this place instead of dining in. It was convenient to be able to order and pay online. The crab puffs were pretty good, but our bowls weren't anything great. I ordered red pepper and there was a ton of that, along with micro shrimp. The beef was dry, as was the chicken. They put so little sauce on it the whole meal was dry. Overall, convenient but not fantastic.

Good service, but the food wasn't that good. Prices aren't that good for the type of place this is.

Well I decided to try the online ordering for the first time. When you order from places like this you have to expect them to get most things wrong. We ordered 4 dinners in total. One of us has a shellfish allergy, needless to say in that exact plate there were a few shrimp. In the dish with all veg there were pieces of beef, and the cooking of the egg was absolutely inedible. I actually like this place. I'm not here to say that their food isn't good, which it is...but when you have mistakes such as those listed above it almost ruins it for you. I'll treat this place like Asia at L'Auberge, one more mess up and I'm never going back. I'll be back, I just do not recommend anyone trying the online ordering option... The guy who delivered the food was very nice. The food ever arrived LITERALLY at the time specified online, which completely amazed me! One thing I didn't like too much is if you're paying via credit card(online only) they limit the tip to 20% which is always lower than any tip I give, even if everything goes wrong. Everyone has to make a living, and miscommunications happen. Also, they only deliver in a 5 mile radius of the store. Basically, if you don't live in the actual city, you're too far.

This is a small place that is giving its best shot. The wife and I have ate here many times. Don't let them sit you one foot behind the entry station; it sucks. Small nice place with a sushi bar...we like this place

Good food, good sushi. Bomb roll is the bomb! Good service. Love the music they play and always something good on the tv for when you dining alone.

Very yummy. Highly recommend lake Charles roll! Service was awesome.. .it was pretty good would really like some towels or something to pack the food down as its just a little bowl. Some other chouices would be nice too. But over all I will be back.

Very unsatisfying and quite expensive considering the portions. Frankly, I'm surprised some people gave it a high rating. Several have already commented on how small the bowls are that you use to select your fresh uncooked items and I second that. However, I would like to also add that once the items are cooked down the portion is even smaller. As a comparison if you disregard the rice that fills 80% of the bowl and compare the main course to any of the food court Chinese restaurants I wouldn't think you even got a quarter of the size of theirs. I packed my little metal bowl as tightly as possible and after it was cooked I could have fit all the ingredients in the palm of one hand. The second problem that concerned me greatly was the raw meats all sitting out next to each other. I understand that it is chilled but chicken and seafood shouldn't just be sitting out like that. The chance of cross contamination is extremely high. Chef Ramsey would be yelling his head off.

Frankly I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at Great Kahn Mongolian. The atmosphere was pretty laid back, as expected but the service and the food were both severely lacking in greatness, as the name suggests. The seating was cramped and the host was less than polite as he showed me to my seat, and promptly left with out any instruction as to the small bowl unceremoniously left on my table. The waitress was polite but not prompt, forgot to ask if I wanted a straw for my drink, and didn't check on me again for 15 minutes. The Food: The variety of meat, vegetables, and sauces is good, however the beef quality wasn't great, sometimes tender, sometimes tough. The bowl I mentioned before was indeed quite small, leaving you to pack as much as you can into the smallest space so that when you get to the vegetables everything is falling out of the bowl no matter how you compress what you have. The sauces all have a great flavor and there are disposable spoons to try all of the different kinds, the tiny one ounce bowl given for sauce is no where near big enough. The fried rice offered was bland and seemed more like steamed brown rice with peas and carrots. When I finally got my meal, almost the entire bowl was tasteless. The Verdict: I will not return to the Grand Kahn Mongolian Grill. The service and the food were so sub-par that unfortunately I can't envision myself ever returning this establishment.

Great food and Great staff! You get a bowl to fill with meat and veggies, pick out a seasonings and carb and it is all combines for you! You can also order apps and rolls. I had the Shaggy Dog Roll which was a great add on.

So I came here thinking it was Chinese um yeah I learned that I was at the wrong place after walking in. However, I was already committed so me and the wife decided to stay. So the way it works is the ask you what time of rice or noodle you want and then they give you a bowl. You go to the "salad" bar. Its not a salad bar but you get the idea. Then you put all the meats and vegies you can fit in the bowl and by fit I mean pile it up as high as you can with out it tipping over. Then you choose your sauces. If you don't know ask the cook. You handed it to the cook and he takes it from their. You head back to your table and a few minutes later you have some great tasting food. This is a must have in Lake Charles.

Food tasted funny. Maybe the grill? We won't be back for awhile. Ok we can't get too far from the bathroom. DO NOT EAT HERE!

The service was awesome. Everyone stopped by our table to check up on us. They have really good portions here too (just have to learn how to stack the food in your bowl). I asked the server for recommendations on flavors/sauces, and it came out awesome! (Don't remember exactly what the sauces I used, but pretty sure I can just ask for recommendations again next time!) Their drinks were great, had the birthday cake and it really DOES leave a birthday cake taste in my mouth! Haha... I like the bacon fries, and the sushi rolls were really good too! For dessert we had an ice cream cake, I think it was called banana split, which was amazing! This is a family-owned restaurant, so you'll get a chance to meet the owners who are nice and friendly.

We loved it!! They even accommodate for kids! Our 5 yr old picked what he wanted and loved every min of it!! They also added sushi, which is what I, personally, look for! Thank you great khan for added to the wonders of Lake Charles,La!!

The food's good and tends to be very fresh. It's typical build-it-yourself grill fare. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad.

Great food and friendly staff ... it's different and unique in it's area. Love stopping by when I visit the city. Would definitely recommend my friends in Houston to stop by when they are in town.

Food is good but portion is small. Good service.

I ordered udon noodles with shrimp, crab baby bok Chou. The noodles were cooked correctly, the shrimp were small but plentiful. The crab, oh the crab, pollack fake crab is not crab. If u say crab use crab not imitation crab which is pollack.oh and only one baby bok Chou. Cut in half. In town for six weeks gone to this place based on reviews will not go back to this place.

Great fresh ingredients, you pick what goes in your bowl (you gather the veggies & meats, spices, then sauce, and then choose noodles or rice, etc). They cook it & can be as healthy as you make it. With dinner you also get miso soup. Excellent for picky eaters because you choose everything out yourself! Surprised that they didn't have an unlimited bowl option for a higher price (like places we had been to previously in Houston). Very small dining area. Waiters are great, hostess could be friendlier & more attentive. Recently started serving sushi also.

Good food. Not an all you can eat place, one bowl, similar quality as you would get at a Chinese buffet with Mongolian grill included. Friendly service
